Reduce Oil Dependence
All over Canada, many parts of the United States, Europe and Asia have regions where temperatures are sub-zero during the winter, and many presently rely on burning fossil fuels for heating. In Canada, Natural Gas is used extensively and the price is steadily rising.

Inexpensive
This is an amazingly simple concept that can be created with a limited amount of technology. Power output from such devices are very high due to the useful properties of water as a power generating catalyst. Power stations using Cold Water Reactors could have designs built by local industries.

Clean
There are no carbon emissions produced from these devices. This is a clean alternative that can reduce our carbon footprint on the earth. Combined with the mix of other alternative sources of energy such as wind and solar, Cold Water Reactors add to the overall sustainability of using alternate sources of energy.
